ONE MINUTE TO MIDNIGHT 2026
One Minute to Midnight is a visual chronicle of the wild world we are losing. In these images, every animal becomes both subject and symbol, a witness to our choices and a sufferer of their consequences. Some of the species portrayed are already on the brink, their populations dwindling so rapidly that within a single generation they may disappear forever. Others are survivors struggling against the odds, clinging to shrinking territories, facing hunger, drought, and displacement. Each photograph freezes a moment in time, but it also speaks to a much larger truth: the urgent ticking of a planetary clock that tells us we are running out of time. Around the globe, we are witnessing the unraveling of nature at a pace unprecedented in human history. This series confronts the urgent reality of a planet on the brink where deforestation devours forests, climate change disrupts fragile ecosystems, expansion erases the habitats that countless species call home. Every image is a witness to the silent unraveling of biodiversity, a reminder that the clock is ticking for animals whose existence hangs by a thread. Some of these creatures, once abundant, now stand at the edge of extinction so near to vanishing that within a few years they may exist only in memory and photographs. Ancient forests are falling silent under the weight of deforestation, vast habitats are being fragmented and destroyed. The result is a cascade of consequences: the collapse of ecosystems, the disappearance of vital species and the slow erosion of the biodiversity that sustains our planet. This series confronts the reality that relentless pursuit of growth and consumption has pushed countless species toward the edge of extinction. Each image captures not only the majesty of wildlife, but also the urgency of their plight. These animals, once thriving across the planet, now face a countdown measured not in centuries, but in years. It is nearly midnight for them and for us all. This body of work is a reminder of what we are losing before the final minute strikes midnight.
